Britain’s Joe Jackson is one of the new wave’s finest, together with Elvis Costello and David Byrne, and all three were as relevant yesterday as they are today. Eclectic and chameleon-like, he has always made his mark with his musical imagination, which has seen him leap through the genres since his appearance on stage all the way back in 1979: reggae, jump-blues, salsa, rhythm & blues, contemporary… Since then, he has received five Grammy nominations and has released twenty-one albums – the last of them, Fool, in January this year. His album and promotional single, Fabulously Absolute, demonstrate that we are referring to a legend in the very best of form. His performance in San Sebastian is part of the “Four Decade Tour,” with which he celebrates his forty years in music.
